Meet The Supervisor

Hunter Fossett

Hunter Fossett

Farms Enterprise Supervisor

Hi! I’m Hunter, a Berry College alumnus originally from Hiram, Georgia. I earned my undergraduate degree in Marketing in 2021 and went on to complete my MBA in 2023. I began working with the Farm Enterprises as a graduate assistant in the summer of 2021 and joined Berry’s full-time staff in August 2022 as the Farm Enterprise Manager. A fun fact about me is that I played football during my time at Berry.

What makes Berry’s student enterprise program unique?

What makes the enterprises unique in my opinion is the sense of ownership that comes with being a part of the program. Students here are involved in making key decisions that directly impact the enterprise they are working for. This isn't just some ordinary job where you clock in and clock out. The success of the business is solely dependent on the effort the students put in and the determination they have.

In one sentence, how would you describe your role and the impact of this work on students?

My role is to provide students with the resources they need to effectively and efficiently run a business, while also setting them up for success in their own lives as best I can.

What is one key value or skill you hope students gain from working in the enterprise?

I really hope that students are able to master the human element of business while working for the enterprises. I've noticed that in an increasingly digital world, the art of spontaneous face-to-face dialogue is becoming a rare commodity. I want our employees to regain that confidence by heading up conversations with our customers and business partners. In agriculture, especially, so much is done with a handshake and a conversation. I want my students to feel at home in those moments rather than intimidated by them.
